A Pima Community College spokeswoman says an instructor arrested at the Tucson-area store where U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords was shot did not have the suspect as a student.
Deputies say they arrested 45-year-old Brian Hewlett for sitting in a yoga position, praying out loud and chanting after the Safeway reported he was being disruptive on Feb. 25.
The Arizona Daily Star reports he was charged with criminal trespassing but is out of jail.
The college issued a statement Thursday saying the incident is under review by the college and legal counsel.
Hewlett is listed on the Pima Community College online directory as a sociology instructor at its northwest and downtown campuses.
The Associated Press tried to reach Hewlett Thursday by phone and e-mail.
Shooting suspect Jared Loughner attended the school.
