Friends and former students and colleagues have gathered to remember Californians Scott and Jean Adam, who were killed on their yacht last week after being hijacked by Somali pirates as they sailed around the world distributing Bibles to remote congregations.
The memorial Wednesday was organized by Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, where Scott Adam was a student then an adjunct professor after leaving a 30-year career as a Hollywood associate producer.
Former students at the seminary remember Scott Adam as an inspired and passionate teacher who challenged them in his film production course.
His former teachers and colleagues say the couple used their love of adventure to share their passion for Christianity.
The Adams were shot to death Feb. 22 while sailing south of Oman.
