Authorities say a Colorado tow truck driver has died after he was dragged by a chain for more than a mile behind an SUV he was preparing to tow.
The owner of the towing company says police in Colorado Springs told him the SUV was being towed Wednesday because it was illegally parked.
The Colorado Springs Gazette quoted a witness as saying the victim's legs were entangled in the chain. Police say the man was pronounced dead at a hospital.
It wasn't immediately clear whether the driver of the SUV was aware that the man was caught in the chain.
Authorities have not released the name of the tow truck driver or the driver of the SUV.
Police say they are interviewing several persons of interest.
