'Botox Bandit' gets 5 years for Calif. burglaries

A Southern California woman known as the "Botox Bandit" has been sentenced to five years in prison for felonies including burglary, fraud and identity theft.

The Orange County district attorney's office said in a statement Wednesday that 46-year-old Melissa Chesney earned the nickname for "committing fraud in search of a wrinkle-free face."

Chesney pleaded guilty to 21 felonies, including nine counts of burglary.

Authorities say between February and May 2009, Chesney visited Orange County salons and spas 17 times and used fake names and fraudulent checks to pay for botox and other skin treatments, along with body products.

Chesney also pleaded guilty to burglarizing a Kohl's department store in Garden Grove and a software store in Tustin.

She was also ordered Wednesday to pay restitution.
