Authorities say an employee at Napa State Hospital in California has been killed by a man confined to the facility.
Sheriff's Capt. Tracey Stuart says 54-year-old Donna Gross was found dead in an enclosed courtyard area of the state psychiatric hospital around 7 p.m. Saturday.
The Concord resident had worked as a psychiatric technician at the facility for 14 years.
Shortly after finding Gross dead, deputies arrested 37-year-old Jess Massey. Stuart says Massey has been confined to the State Hospital system since 1993, when he was declared insane.
Massey was removed from the facility and is being held at Napa County Jail on suspicion of murder.
Investigators have not released details of how Gross was killed, but say an autopsy will be conducted this week.
