The Ohio National Guard says a soldier is in critical condition a day after being injured during an airborne training exercise.
Four soldiers were taken to hospitals following parachuting accidents Wednesday afternoon at the Rickenbacker Air National Guard base south of Columbus. The guard said Thursday that one of the soldiers is still in an intensive care unit.
The soldiers were among 56 troops from the Guard and Army Reserve who jumped from a military cargo airplane flown by an Air Force Reserve unit out of Pittsburgh.
A spokesman for the Army Reserve 412th Civil Affairs Battalion said Wednesday that three of the soldiers suffered possible concussions and the fourth strained a neck muscle.
