A woman accused of killing a pregnant woman and cutting the baby from her womb has been convicted by a Washington state jury.
The Tri-City Herald reports that Phiengchai Sisouvanh Synhavong (PEE'-en-chay SIS'-oo-vahn SIN'-ha-vahng), was found guilty Tuesday of aggravated first-degree murder.
The 25-year-old Kennewick woman had pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity. She faces life in prison without parole when she is sentenced Nov. 3.
She was charged in the June 27, 2008, death of Araceli Camacho Gomez, whose body was found in a city park. The baby survived and is now living with his father.
