A Connecticut judge says a jury that will decide life-or-death punishment for a man convicted in three home-invasion killings could begin deliberations on the punishment by Nov. 1.
New Haven Superior court Judge Jon Blue says the jury will hear evidence over two weeks, beginning Monday. Final arguments are expected Oct. 29.
Steven Hayes was convicted last week of 16 counts for the 2007 killings of a woman and her two daughters in Cheshire. The jury can sentence Hayes to either death row or life in prison.
Hayes' co-defendant is awaiting trial.
