The conditions of two Utah teens struck by lightning outside their high school have been upgraded from critical to serious at a Nevada hospital.
The Spectrum newspaper of St. George reports that 17-year-old Alexander Lambson and 16-year-old Christopher Dane Zdunich have been walking and talking at University Medical Center in Las Vegas.
They were struck Tuesday when they were leaving Snow Canyon High School in Santa Clara, Utah, near St. George.
School officials attribute their rapid recovery to a quick response by faculty after the strike. They say the boys were revived by CPR after their hearts stopped beating.
Classmates watched in horror as the boys slumped to the ground under the mostly clear sky.
