A passenger at New York City's John F. Kennedy Airport has been removed from a Florida-bound JetBlue flight because of a security concern.
JetBlue spokeswoman Jenny Dervin says the passenger was taken off JetBlue Flight 21 that was scheduled to depart at 6:59 p.m. Saturday for Tampa.
Dervin did not give a more specific reason for the passenger's removal beyond it being a security reason. She says the plane departed at 9:40 p.m. Saturday after it had been re-screened. It was expected to arrive in Tampa at 12:21 a.m. Sunday.
A police spokesman says the passenger's removal was not terrorism-related.
No other details were immediately available.
