A spokesman for the county courthouse in Las Vegas says officials are investigating a bomb threat at the building one day after a shootout at a nearby federal building left a guard and gunman dead.

Clark County District Court spokesman Michael Sommermeyer said Tuesday the court was notified by police of a telephone bomb threat before 2 p.m.

Sommermeyer says the building has not been fully evacuated, but court officers and marshals are sweeping the building for explosives and suspicious people.

Dozens of people are waiting outside the court along with a police vehicle as the search is conducted.

Sommermeyer says everyone entering the building is screened, and officials won't evacuate the whole building unless they believe the threat to be credible.
