The remains of a 16-year-old Portland, Ore., girl reported missing in 1983 have been identified _ reopening an investigation into whether there's a link to a convicted serial killer.
The Washington County sheriff's office in Hillsboro says the skeletal remains of Angela Marie Girdner were found in April 1985 in a wooded area, one of four bodies discovered within a mile of each other that year.
Authorities are now looking for any link to convicted serial killer Gary Ridgway, known as the "Green River killer."
Sheriff's deputies say the skeletal remains were misplaced during the investigation but had been found and identified.
Deputies say Ridgway denies any involvement in the death of Girdner.
