Authorities say a motivational speaker accused in the slaying of a Las Vegas woman told police the two were in a meditation session in her home when he decided to kill her.
Michael Lane, a British citizen, faces charges of murder and robbery with a deadly weapon, as well as one count of grand larceny auto, in connection with the death of 44-year-old Ginger Candela.
Police say Candela was found dead in her garage Nov. 30. Lane was arrested Dec. 3.
An arrest report released Monday says Lane told investigators he and Candela were in her bedroom, and he compressed her carotid arteries to help her achieve a deeper state of meditation. Police say Lane told them he decided then to kill her, striking her with a frying pan and using an electrical cord to strangle her.
