Authorities say a fifth child has died from injuries after a minivan carrying 15 people blew a tire and crashed on Interstate 10 in Louisiana.

State police say 12-year-old Ariel Hines of Harvey died Monday at a Baton Rouge hospital.

Six people have died from the Saturday crash near Baton Rouge, including the driver and five children ranging from 2 to 14 years old. The others in the van were injured, some critically.

State police have said none of the 13 children was wearing a seat belt and all were thrown from the vehicle.
