The San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department says a man charged with killing a housekeeper at a Seventh Day-Adventist forest camp had planned to shoot everyone there.
Leith Hamilton has pleaded not guilty to killing 60-year-old Celebrada Lomito-Sexton on Nov. 2 at Camp Cedar Falls in Angelus Oaks.
A sheriff's report, obtained Wednesday by the San Bernardino Sun, says Hamilton had extra ammunition for his handgun and told detectives he originally planned to kill everyone. Instead, he surrendered at a sheriff's station.
There were 15 people at camp, including six children ages 2 to 11.
Authorities say the 30-year-old handyman never provided a motive for the alleged attack.
A call to his attorney Friday wasn't immediately returned.
