Seven men have been indicted on second-degree murder charges in the fatal beating of a man in a fight outside a Boston nightclub in August.
Prosecutors said Wednesday that the seven men have been charged in the death of 22-year-old Jose Alicea of Boston. They and five others had pleaded not guilty to earlier charges of aggravated assault and battery in the attack on Alicea and three of his friends.
Several suspects were wearing black tuxedos with red vests during the Aug. 20 attack. The men, all from outside Boston, had been at a friend's funeral.
Prosecutors said the men had a conversation with Alicea that escalated into a fight. He was found on a sidewalk with severe head injuries and died two days later.
(This version CORRECTS Alicea's age to 22.)
