WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The Trump administration expects to complete a review of Afghan policy in the coming weeks but needs to take some unspecified steps in the meantime to try to prevent further deterioration there, U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said on Wednesday.
"That work we expect to complete over the coming weeks, (to) review it with the president, make a final policy decision," he told lawmakers. "It has not been going well in Afghanistan ... There are steps we need to take to at least prevent further deterioration while we get our new policies in place."
