CONCORD, N.H. (AP) — A New Hampshire legislator under fire for creating a misogynistic online forum says he has never hated women and believes it's a waste of lawmakers' time to dig into his past comments.
Republican state Rep. Robert Fisher is the center of a Tuesday hearing. A legislative committee could recommend reprimanding or expelling him from office. Fisher says his past comments were "injudicious."
Fisher has admitted he is the user who appears to have created The Red Pill, a forum calling itself a discussion of "sexual strategy" for men. He denies new allegations by The Daily Beast that he still moderates the page.
Fellow lawmakers and residents testified that Fisher's comments help fuel a culture of disrespecting and degrading women and are beneath the dignity of his office.
