CONVENT, La. (AP) — A former law enforcement officer who had sex with a teenager while infected with HIV has been sentenced in Louisiana to 15 years in prison and $500,000 in restitution.
It's the second guilty plea for 33-year-old Barlon Cammon, who was sentenced in October to 10 years for having sex with another teen.
According to a report in The Advocate (http://bit.ly/2m0RZyK), St. James Parish prosecutors say Cammon intentionally exposed the boy to AIDS through carnal knowledge, never revealing his infection after they met through an online dating app. The earlier case involved a different teen in St. John the Baptist Parish.
Cammon was a St. John sheriff's deputy from 2007 to 2009, and a Gramercy police officer from 2009 to 2011.
