WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer said on Tuesday he had "serious, serious concerns" about President Donald Trump's Supreme Court nominee, Neil Gorsuch, saying the judge had avoided answering questions aimed at gauging his judicial independence.

Schumer told reporters Gorsuch declined to answer his questions about things like the ban Trump put in place on immigrants from seven Muslim-majority nations and the Emoluments Clause in the U.S. Constitution that bars officeholders from accepting money from foreign powers.

The Senate's top Democrat, however, said he had not made a decision on whether or not he would support the nominee.
