PITTSBURGH (AP) — A Georgia man accused of carrying a stolen gun and ammunition into a western Pennsylvania movie theater last month is now facing a federal charge.
U.S. Attorney David J. Hickton said in a statement Tuesday that 21-year-old William Gossett of Covington, Georgia, has been indicted by federal grand jury in Pittsburgh on a charge of violating federal firearms laws.
Gossett was arrested July 23 at the Cinemark Theater in Center Township. That's about 25 miles northwest of Pittsburgh.
Township police said they stopped Gossett after he walked into the theater with a large bag containing a gun and box of ammunition. Police say the handgun inside the bag was stolen in Ohio.
