BAGHDAD (Reuters) - At least six people were killed and 20 wounded when a suicide bomber detonated his explosive vest at the entrance to Kadhimiya, a mostly Shi'ite Muslim district in northwest Baghdad, police and medical sources said on Sunday.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility, but Islamic State regularly attacks security checkpoints and civilian targets in the capital. It was behind a suicide blast this month which left 292 people dead.

Sources in Kadhimiya hospital, where the victims of Sunday's explosion were taken, said the death toll could rise as some of the wounded were in a critical condition.
