WASHINGTON (AP) — Donald Trump's campaign chairman says the Republican presidential contender has settled on a running mate.
Paul Manafort says on Fox News Channel's "Fox & Friends" that he thinks Trump "has reached a decision but he isn't prepared to announce it yet." And Manafort adds, "until he announces it, there's no formal nominee" for vice president.
Trump had planned to introduce his pick at a news conference Friday morning in New York, but tweeted that he would postpone the event because of the deadly attack in Nice, France.
This, after a day of rampant speculation that saw Indiana Gov. Mike Pence emerge as a late favorite for the job.
Manafort says Trump thought it would be "totally inappropriate" in the aftermath of the attack to announce the pick on Friday.
