CHICAGO (Reuters) - Filmmaker George Lucas has decided not to put his Star Wars museum in Chicago due to legal challenges over the proposed location on the shore of Lake Michigan, Mayor Rahm Emanuel said on Friday in a statement.

Emanuel was a booster for the museum proposal, announced two years ago, which he said would bring jobs, investment and tourism to the city. A group called Friends of the Parks sued to block construction of the museum on lake front property it said should be reserved for open lands.
