(Reuters) - Exxon Mobil Corp on Wednesday said it was taking precautionary measures to ensure safety of its personnel at its Torrance, California refinery following reports of a wildfire in a forestland north of Santa Barbara.
Mandatory evacuations have been ordered for Refugio Canyon, Venadito Canyon and Las Flores Canyon, which includes an Exxon refinery, an Associated Press report quoted the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office.
A 150-acre blaze broke out around 3:30 p.m. local time Wednesday in the area of Los Padres National Forest, according to the report.
Exxon operates a 149,500 barrels-per-day refinery at its refinery in Torrance.
