MEXICO CITY (Reuters) - Mexico supports India joining non-proliferation body the Nuclear Suppliers Group (NSG), President Enrique Pena Nieto said on Wednesday, and visiting Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi thanked him for his backing.

India is emerging from decades of isolation over its nuclear arms program, and is poised to join the Missile Technology Control Regime (MTCR) after talks between Modi and U.S. President Barack Obama in Washington this week.

Both groups would give India greater access to research and technology, but China has effectively blocked India´s accession to NSG.
