NEW YORK (AP) — A federal judge has dismissed a New York lawsuit filed by the ex-wife of billionaire hedge fund manager Steven Cohen that had accused him of cheating her out of millions of dollars in their divorce.
The U.S. District Court chief judge said in her decision Thursday that Patricia Cohen failed to prove her claim her former husband and his accountant lied to deceive her about his net worth during their divorce in 1990.
Cohen is one of the highest-profile figures in American finance and one of the country's richest men. He who lives on a sprawling estate in Greenwich, Connecticut. He says he's pleased with the judge's ruling.
Patricia Cohen's attorney says he believes a jury would've found in his client's favor.
