HACKENSACK, N.J. (AP) — The son of a former aide to Democratic New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio's (dih BLAH'-zee-ohz) wife has pleaded not guilty in the fatal stabbing of a teenager in New Jersey.
Khari Noerdlinger is charged with aggravated manslaughter, weapon possession and hindering apprehension in the death of 16-year-old Savion Lewallen. He entered the pleas Monday.
A judge tightened bail restrictions on the 19-year-old Edgewater man because he tested positive for cocaine last month.
Authorities say Lewallen went to Edgewater with four accomplices in January in an apparent bid to rob Noerdlinger. Lewallen was killed during the confrontation.
The four people with Lewallen have been charged with armed robbery.
Noerdlinger's mother is Rachel Noerdlinger. She resigned in 2014 after a string of damaging disclosures about her personal life, including her son's arrest on trespassing charges.
