WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A man attacked a District of Columbia bus driver on Tuesday, hijacked his vehicle and then struck a person who died, police said.
The bus was driven a short distance and caused several crashes before coming to a stop in a gas station parking lot in northeast Washington, police said.
A person struck in the lot was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead. The driver suffered injuries that police described as not life-threatening, and no passengers were injured.
The suspect is in police custody and was taken to a hospital.
