(Reuters) - One person was wounded in a shooting at Washington University in St. Louis, and people on campus have been told to seek shelter, the school said on Wednesday.
The shooting took place near the Mallinckrodt Center, the school's student union, on the main Danforth Campus, the private university said in an alert posted on its website. It said people should continue to shelter in place.
The injuries were not thought to be life-threatening and the victim has been taken to a hospital, Washington University said on its Twitter feed.
The school has about 13,000 full-time students, according to its website.
