PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Court documents say the owner of an Oregon company bribed a government official in return for U.S. Department of Defense contracts.
The Oregonian reports (http://bit.ly/1T9MaG8 ) that federal court documents say the owner of Ashland-based Sky Research Inc. provided a program manager from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers with cash, meals, golf and other kickbacks, while SRI received nine DoD contracts valued at $171 million.
Sky Research Inc. is described as a contractor that primarily worked on U.S. government contracts to detect unexploded ordinances. The company's owner is identified only as "Sky" in the criminal information filing. He is charged with one count of criminal conspiracy.
Sky could not be reached for comment. His wife, Anne Sky, said she could not comment when reached Thursday. She is listed as the company's vice president.
