CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) — A late June trial has been set for Joey Meek, the friend of the man charged in the mass shootings at Emanuel AME Church in Charleston.

Federal prosecutors allege Meek did not tell investigators all he knew about Dylann Roof's plans to kill nine black parishioners last June.

Court documents show U.S. District Judge Richard Gergel has set Meek's jury trial for June 27 through July 8. On July 11, Roof goes on trial in state court on nine counts of murder in a case in which the state is seeking the death penalty.

The federal government has not decided whether it will seek death against Roof in federal court where he faces charges of hate crimes and other counts. No date for Roof's federal trial has been set.
