BEIJING (Reuters) - A former top officer in China's military took a "huge" amount of bribes and will now be prosecuted, state news agency Xinhua said on Tuesday.

Guo Boxiong, 74, was a vice chairman of the powerful Central Military Commission until he stepped down in 2012.

The government announced a corruption probe into Guo last July.
