(Reuters) - Authorities searched on Tuesday for a suspect in a quadruple homicide in Kansas City, Kansas, after four men were killed by gunfire late on Monday.
About 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday, the Missouri highway patrol found the pickup of suspect Pablo Serrano, 40, abandoned about 170 miles east of Kansas City on a highway in Montgomery County, Missouri, Kansas City police spokeswoman Amber Thomas said.
Authorities in Missouri were searching for Serrano in the area where his truck was found, Thomas said.
Kansas City police responded to a shooting at 11 p.m. on Monday in the southwestern part of the city. When they arrived, officers found three men in their early 30s, dead from apparent gunshot wounds, according to police.
A fourth man was taken to a local hospital, where he later died from apparent gunshot wounds, police said.
Police did not identify the victims on Tuesday, pending identification and family notification.
