WASHINGTON (AP) — Police officers from around the country, and the world, are posting their "first day" photos in solidarity with a Virginia officer who was shot and killed on her first day on the job.

The pictures posted on the Internet and social media show women and men posing in their uniforms on their first day of duty. WTTG-TV reports (http://bit.ly/219Ctta) that almost all are captioned "in honor of Officer Ashley Guindon."

Officials say 28-year-old Guindon was killed Saturday when she responded to a report of a domestic argument at a home in Woodbridge. Two other Prince William County Police Department officers were wounded, and a woman at the home was also killed. The woman's husband is in custody and charged with the shootings.
