BUENOS AIRES (Reuters) - Six of Argentina's grain producing provinces were declared flood emergency areas by the government on Friday, citing harsh rains that have washed out some soy-growing areas and corn fields.
The country is the worlds top supplier of soymeal livestock feed and No. 4 corn exporter.
The emergency, announced in the government's morning gazette, covers the provinces of Cordoba, Santa Fe, Entre Rios, Chaco, La Rioja and Corrientes. Argentina's top grains producing province of Buenos Aires was not included in the emergency.
