Magnitude 6.7 earthquake hits southern Taiwan: USGS

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A magnitude 6.7 earthquake struck southern Taiwan early on Saturday at a shallow depth of 6.2 miles (10 km), the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The quake was centered 19 miles (31 km) east-southeast of T'ai-nan, Taiwan, the USGS said.
