KIRKUK, Iraq (Reuters) - A suicide bomber blew himself up at the entrance to a local government compound in northern Iraq on Tuesday in a rare breach of Kurdish defenses in the Dibis area, security sources said.

Following the explosion, an unknown number of militants entered the compound and occupied the mayor's office, according to a policeman at the scene who said the battle was continuing.
