NEW YORK (Reuters) - Kansas City Royals catcher Salvador Perez was World Series most valuable player on Sunday after clinching Major League Baseball's Fall Classic with a 7-2 win over the New York Mets.

The Venezuelan delivered rock solid defense behind the plate and a clutch RBI in the Royals Game Five win that closed out the best-of-seven series 4-1.
