WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. Republican presidential candidate Jeb Bush raised a total of $13.4 million in the latest quarter and has $10.3 million cash on hand, the Bush campaign said on Thursday.
Bush campaign manager Danny Diaz said in a memo to Bush donors accompanying the figures that the fund-raising total is considered strong given that there are 15 candidates running for the 2016 Republican presidential nomination.
The $13.4 million raised by Bush in the third quarter compared to $14.2 million raised in the same period in 2011 by the eventual 2012 nominee, Mitt Romney, the Bush campaign said.
Bush reported cash on hand of$10.3 million and said an average of $230,000 was raised each day.
