Rangers beat Toronto again to put Blue Jays on ropes

(The Sports Xchange) - Hanser Alberto singled in the go-ahead run in the 14th inning and the Texas Rangers went on to defeat the Toronto Blue Jays 6-4 on Friday.

The result in Toronto gave the Rangers a 2-0 lead in the best-of-five American League Division Series and put the Blue Jays on the brink of elimination.

The Rangers led 2-0 and 3-1 early in the game.

Blue Jays right-hander Marcus Stroman allowed four runs (three earned), five hits and two walks while striking out five in seven-plus innings.

Rangers left-hander Cole Hamels allowed four runs (two earned) and six hits with six strikeouts in seven innings.
