(Reuters) - TransCanada Corp said on Wednesday it will seek approval from the Nebraska Public Service Commission for its Keystone XL crude oil pipeline route through the state.

The proposed route for the pipeline was evaluated by the Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality and approved by the Nebraska Governor in 2013, the company said.

The U.S. State Department is yet to grant approval for the 1,179-mile (1,900-km) pipeline from Hardisty, Alberta to Steele City, Nebraska that will transport Canadian and U.S. Bakken oil to U.S. markets.
