(Reuters) - A lock down was ordered at Delta State University on Monday after an "active shooter" was spotted on campus, according to the Twitter account for the school in Cleveland, Mississippi.
One victim was transported from the scene by ambulance, and the suspect remained on the loose, the Clarion-Ledger newspaper reported, citing the Cleveland Police Department.
"Please stay inside and away from windows," said a Twitter post for the university, located 120 miles northwest of Jackson.
A representative for the university's communications office said it had no further comment.
More than 4,000 students are enrolled in the public university.
