LOS ANGELES (AP) — Los Angeles police have shot and killed a woman they say may have been armed with a large knife.
Police say a report that a woman had robbed a pharmacy at knifepoint sent officers to the Crenshaw District shortly after 1:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Police say they spotted a woman matching the description of the suspect in an alley.
Authorities say officers used a Taser during a confrontation that ended with them shooting the woman, who died at the scene.
Details haven't been released, but police say a large knife was found at the scene.
The Los Angeles Times (http://lat.ms/1P7KREl ) says the woman was the 25th person shot by LAPD officers this year, and 13 died.
