(Reuters) - A Cathay Pacific flight from Hong Kong to Los Angeles made an emergency landing at a U.S. Air Force station in Alaska's Aleutian Islands on Wednesday, the Federal Aviation Administration said.
FAA spokesman Ian Gregor said Flight 884, a Boeing 777, landed without incident before dawn at Eareckson Air Station in Shemya, Alaska. Gregor referred questions on the reason for the diversion to the airline, and a representative for Cathay Pacific did not immediately return an email seeking comment.
It was unclear how many people were aboard the aircraft.
