CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (AP) — Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker says a ban on carrying guns at military recruiting centers should be eliminated.
Walker made the comments Friday during a campaign event in Iowa, when asked about how to reduce gun violence.
Earlier in the event, Walker asked for a moment of silence for the four Marines who died in a shooting rampage in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
One of the victims was a Marine who grew up in Grantsburg, Wisconsin. The Marine Corps identifies him as Sgt. Carson Holmquist. His service included a deployment to Afghanistan.
