DOVER, N.H. (AP) — Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Rodham Clinton says high college loan interest rates are a drag on the U.S. economy. She's promising proposals that would allow students to refinance their loans.
Clinton told a town hall meeting in New Hampshire that she wants to expand loan forgiveness for students who go into public service. She says student loan payments should be contingent on income.
Clinton is making a campaign swing through New Hampshire before heading to Iowa for a Democratic party dinner on Friday.
