Governor Christie announces 2016 Republican presidential bid

LIVINGSTON, N.J. (Reuters) - New Jersey Governor Chris Christie told donors and friends on Tuesday he intends to run for the Republican presidential nomination, The Washington Post reported, joining a large field of candidates seeking to win the White House next year.

The brash Christie, 52, planned to launch his campaign at Livingston High School in New Jersey, where he was once class president.
