(Reuters) - A military fighter jet crashed in Arizona during a night-time training mission on Wednesday, military officials said.
The F-16 Fighting Falcon went down around 8 p.m. local time just five miles outside of the Douglas Municipal Airport in the city of Douglas, which touches the U.S.-Mexican border, according to the 162nd Wing Arizona Air National Guard.
The pilot was the only person onboard the plane when it went down, though the person's condition was not immediately known. It was not clear what caused the crash and further details were not immediately available.
