(Reuters) - One man was shot dead and eight other people were injured at an apartment complex in Connecticut in the early hours of Thursday morning by what officials believed were more than one assailant, local broadcaster WFSB reported.
Police told the network the shooting occurred around 1 a.m. (0500 GMT) in Bridgeport and that six men and three women were shot. One of the men was killed and most of the others were undergoing surgery at local hospitals, WFSB reported.
One of those was an elderly person who was in the bath when a bullet was shot through the bathroom wall, WFSB said.
Reuters could not independently verify the report. A representative for Bridgeport Police Department confirmed that an incident had occurred overnight but declined to give any details.
